Critique for Alfreton & District C S

14/07/2013

A lovely day to start with, then the cloud cover dispersed and the sun shone, lovely for the people but rather hot for the dogs.

Thank you to those who entered especially in those breeds where we clashed with a breed club show.

Irish Setter

Puppy (1,0a)

1st         Savage’s Gwendariff The Ringmaster - 9mth D. Nice young man presenting a good outline on the stand. Good head and eye, lovely neck and shoulders, hopefully his forechest will develop. Good depth of chest, nice rear end, coat coming nicely. True coming and going very nice drive from the rear. BP

Junior (4,1a)

What a close class this was. Three very nice juniors. All presenting a good shape on the stand, all with correct heads, good length of neck and well laid shoulders. All have good rear ends that they used well on the move. For me subtle differences in weight across the loin, amounts of forechest, and return of upper arm made the difference. I know it’s a cliché but these 3 really will swap places.
